The focus of this study was on the effects of hydroxyanisole butylate (BHA) on hepatic metabolism with emphasis on parameters related to energy metabolism and the production of reactive mitochondrial oxygen species (1).

The main application of this chemical is anti-oxidation. Here the results on strawberry conservation are described (2).

Hepatoprotective measures of food antioxidant Butyl hydroxyanisole when mixed with food to counteract intoxication by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) (230 mg / kg body weight / rat / day) in the rat (3).
