GMO means Genetically Modified Organisms as produced by bioengineering that has intervened on the DNA  to modify it and to make it more resistant to viruses, pesticides, pests and other hazards..

In particular, soya is one of the most common transgenic foods together with maize and rapeseed and it is also the most cultivated food on our planet with a percentage of 87% in the USA and 60% in the world.

An example of GMO soybeans: DAS-44406-6 is tolerant to the herbicides 2,4-D, glyphosate, and glufosinate.
