This study compared the irritant and sensitizing potential of some surfactants. None of the eight surfactants studied induced skin irritation. The most tolerated are two new anionic myths (sodium cocoil glutamate and sodium lauroyl-oat amino acids) and an amphoteric agent (cocoamphodiacetate disodium) (1).
As for the environmental impact in wastewater, the results showed limited biodegradability and the possible formation of recalcitrant metabolites (2).
