PEG-12 Dimethicone viene usato in nanotecnologia per ridurre al minimo gli effetti colalterali e non ha promosso alcuna irritazione della pelle (1).

Serve per mantenere stabile la fase dell'emulsione olio/acqua (2).

Nel procedimento per rendere lisci i capelli, questo composto ha dimostrato di proteggere i capelli, preservare la fibra capillare, diminuendo la perdita di proteine e migliorando la resistenza alla rottura (3).

In medicina viene impiegato contro i pidocchi e come additivo antiacido.
