Magnesium metasilicate is a chemical compound, magnesium salt of silicic acid.
It is used as a coating in capsules, as an absorbent.
In the field of synthetic biomaterials to repair defects of tissues or organs caused by trauma, infections, tumors, congenital diseases, magnesium silicate has proven to be better than apatite both for degradability and prolonged release of drugs (1).
It is used as composite coagulant polyferric by co-polymerization (2).
