Dicalcium phosphate dihydrate is a chemical component that appears as a white crystalline powder, odorless, tasteless, soluble in dilute hydrochloric, nitric and acetic acids, insoluble in ethanol.

It is used in industrial food products such as:

• leavening agent for flour, cakes
• food additive in biscuits, powdered milk, cold drinks, ice cream, powdered cream.
• emulsifier
• stabilizer

In cosmetics, particularly in toothpaste, as a stabilizer.
