David Niven (1 March1910  London, UK,- 29 July 1983  Château-d'Oex, Switzerland).

Education. David Niven's early years were marked by a traditional British education. After attending Stowe School, he embarked on a journey of education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he prepared for a career in the British Army.

Early Career. His life took an interesting turn when he moved to Hollywood to work as a production assistant. However, his true calling was acting. His film career began in the 1930s, and his versatility and natural charm quickly made him an emerging star.

Family Life. David Niven's personal life had both moments of joy and sorrow. He had two marriages, the first to Primula Susan Rollo, with whom he had two sons, David Jr. and Jamie. A tragic household accident led to Primula's premature passing in 1946. Later, Niven remarried Hjördis Genberg, with whom he had a son, Kristoffer.

Most Important Films. Niven's career was marked by many memorable roles, but some films hold particular significance. In "The Pink Panther" (1963), he portrayed the iconic character Sir Charles Lytton. "Around the World in 80 Days" (1956) saw him as Phileas Fogg, an adventurous traveler, and "Separate Tables" (1958) earned him a well-deserved Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Major David Angus Pollock. Other notable films include "The Guns of Navarone" (1961) and "The Dawn Patrol" (1938).
