Kiss Them for Me is a 1957 film directed by Stanley Donen. The film's plot is a romantic comedy that follows the adventures of three U.S. Navy aviators during World War II as they enjoy a leave period in San Francisco and face the challenges of love and friendship.

Plot

The film is set during World War II and follows the escapades of three U.S. Navy aviators: Captain Andy Cyphers (played by Cary Grant), Lieutenant McCann (played by Ray Walston), and Lieutenant Sellars (played by Larry Blyden). After completing a series of combat missions, the three men are granted a leave period in San Francisco.

During their leave, the three pilots try to make the most of their downtime and enjoy life to the fullest. Andy, in particular, is known for his popularity with women and is paired with a public relations officer, Gwinneth Livingston (played by Jayne Mansfield), to improve his image.

Things become complicated when Andy falls in love with Alice Kratzner (played by Suzy Parker), an intelligent and idealistic woman. This strains his friendship with McCann and Sellars, who try to help him win Alice's heart.

The plot unfolds with a series of romantic and comedic situations as the three aviators navigate their love relationships and the challenges of wartime. The film explores themes of friendship, love, and sacrifice during a turbulent period in world history.

Major Awards: The film received mixed reviews from critics.

Box Office Gross: The film achieved moderate success at the box office.

Critical Reception:  Cary Grant was praised for his comedic performance, but the film received mixed reviews from critics. Despite the star-studded cast, the film was not a major box office success, but it is still appreciated by fans of 1950s comedies.

My opinion: Probably Cary Grant either did not read the script well or overestimated the director and screenwriter , because this film is really worthless, has a rambling plot, and is not funny.

The story of four airmen who have only four days to have fun could have lent itself to a lot of funny situations. None are seen here. Those at the little parties are painful.

To make it worse, the participation of Jane Mansfield, in the bad copy of Marilyn, who looks like a caricature and talks like a subnormal.

Useless to waste time rewatching it.
