Stannous fluoride in toothpaste showed a better inhibitory effect on oral microbial biofilm and a modulation of the microbial composition within biofilm compared to dentifrices with sodium fluoride (1).

It is also effective for attenuating tooth hypersensitivity (2).

It has demonstrated protection against the onset and progression of dental erososis (3).
