Strontium Acetate, used as a desensitizer in toothpaste, showed moderate efficacy after 6 weeks of use (1).

Here, however, it has been shown to have the ability to occlude dentinal tubules and cause small changes in the mechanical properties of teeth (2).

Ann arginine/calcium carbonate dentifrice has shown greater efficacy in terms of reduction of dentinal hypersensitivity compared to a Strontium Acetate toothpaste (3).
