Some vegetable oils and fatty esters increase skin hydration while keeping the skin hydrated and with a shiny appearance. Fatty esters such as Cetyl palmitate and cetyl esters increase the formation of anisotropic structures (1).

In medicine, Cetyl palmitate was applied as a solid matrix in the stabilization of lymph nodes (2).

As an encapsulating lipid matrix for the transport of Sorafenib, an anticancer drug (3).
