Gamma-oryzanol is a bioactive substance, a mixture of 10 esters of ferulic acid and sterols extracted from the bran oil of brown rice.

It contains antioxidant molecules such as tocopherols, tocotrienols and ferulates (1).

It is found as a dietary supplement in phytonutrients mainly due to its regenerative effects on the muscular system, but also as an anti-diabetic for type 2 diabetes mellitus.
