The soft wheat bran is the outside of the grain.
It is composed mainly of insoluble non-starchy polysaccarids, including Emicellulose arabinoxylan and beta-glucans (1).
As acids, the most abundant are ferulic acid and phenolic acid followed by coumaric, vanillic, synanic, syringe and caffeic (2).
Phenolic compounds derived from wheat bran or wheat showed anti-proliferatative effects on cancer cells (3).
