Dean Reed (1938, Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. - 1986 Berlino Est) è stato un attore, cantante, chitarrista, compositore musicale, regista cinematografico e attivista politico di sinistra.
Il suo genere è stato il pop, country, rock.
Ha registrato 22 Album, ha partecipato come attore o regista in 20 film.

Carriera

All'età di 20 anni, poichè non aveva avuto il successo sperato  negli U.S.A., si trasferì in Cile ed in Argentina.

Successo

Ebbe una grande popolarità in Sud America dal 1958 al 1965 dove la sua canzone "Our Summer Romance" ebbe un grandissimo successo.
A causa delle sue ideologie politiche, venne espulso nel 1966 dall'Argentina.
Visse per qualche anno in Italia dove lavorò come attore in qualche film del genere western/spaghetti.
Dal 1973 si stabilì definitivamente in Germania Est.
Fu trovato morto vicino alla sua casa nel 1986. Le cause della morte restano sconosciute.
