Recensione Idrovel 40 crema
Let us examine the most significant ingredients in order of quantity as indicated on the label. I provide a brief summary for reasons of space. For the full text, studies and bibliography, just click on the ingredient and, if you want to go deeper, it is perhaps a little complex reading because these are scientific studies, but it clarifies the ingredient/health relationship.
Ingredients: Aqua, urea, paraffinum liquidum, glyceril stearate, petrolatum, polysorbate 60, sorbitanstearate, glycine
Urea It is a chemical compound discovered in 1773 by H.M.Rouelle. A component of the skin's natural moisturising factor, it plays an important role in preserving the hydration and integrity of the skin. Useful as an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal agent. Also plays the role of penetration enhancing agent in drugs.
Paraffinum liquidum This is the name of paraffin in liquid form. It should be avoided. Since hydrocarbons with saturated ring systems and aromatic hydrocarbons are present in the production of this chemical compound, some of the compounds such as benzene hydrocarbons may be of potential health hazard, which includes carcinogenic effects in particular
Emollient agent. The presence of Paraffinum liquidum produces, in the biophysical properties of the skin, a reduction in the natural loss of trans epidermal water, as an occlusive agent that physically blocks the evaporation of water from the skin (1). but, while glycerine attracts water to the surface of the skin and in this way maintains the hydration of the stratum corneum, Paraffinum liquidum is adsorbed onto the skin and reduces the loss of trans epidermal water by producing an emollient film. Emollients have the characteristic of enhancing the skin barrier through a source of exogenous lipids that adhere to the skin, improving barrier properties by filling gaps in inter-epidermal clusters to improve hydration while protecting against inflammation. Emollients are described as degreasing or refreshing additives that improve the lipid content of the upper layers of the skin by preventing degreasing and drying of the skin. The problem with emollients is that many have a strong lipophilic character and are identified as occlusive ingredients; they are oily and fatty materials that remain on the skin surface and reduce transepidermal water loss. In cosmetics, emollients and moisturisers are often considered synonymous with humectants and occlusives.
PEG-30 Glyceryl Stearate Solubiliser and emulsifier for creams and lotions.
Petrolatum It is a chemical compound derived from petroleum, a colloidal hydrocarbon ointment. A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained as a semi-solid from the dewaxing of paraffinic residual oil. It consists predominantly of saturated liquid and crystalline hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly greater than C25.
Polysorbate 60 It is non-ionic surfactant with lesser quantities of polyoxyethylated esters of sorbitol, emulsifier.
Sorbitan stearate It is a hydrophobic non-ionic surfactant, gelling a number of organic solvents such as hexadecane, isopropyl myristate and a range of vegetable oils.
Surfactant - Emulsifying agent. Emulsions are thermodynamically unstable. Emulsifiers have the property to reduce the oil/water or water/oil interfacial tension, improve emulsion stability and also directly influence the stability, sensory properties and surface tension of sunscreens by modulating their filmometric performance.
Conclusions
Good product, especially effective. Unfortunately, some ingredients have contraindications, so use with warning. On the other hand, it is a cream that is only to be applied for a few days and warnings must be followed:
Do not apply on the face, inflamed or delicate skin. Avoid contact with the eyes and, if necessary, wash with plenty of water.
Personally, in terms of effectiveness, I consider it to be among the best creams used so far.
