Compendium of the most significant studies with reference to properties, effects.

Pietrocola G, Ceci M, Preda F, Poggio C, Colombo M. Evaluation of the antibacterial activity of a new ozonized olive oil against oral and periodontal pathogens. J Clin Exp Dent. 2018 Nov 1;10(11):e1103-e1108. doi: 10.4317/jced.54929.
Coclusions: The new ozonated oil was a relatively moderate antiseptic. Gram-negative bacteria proved to be more sensitive to ozonized olive oil than Gram-positive ones. ...

Uysal B. Ozonated olive oils and the troubles. J Intercult Ethnopharmacol. 2014 Apr-Jun;3(2):49-50. doi: 10.5455/jice.20140314090801. Abstract: One of the commonly used methods for ozone therapy is ozonated oils. Most prominent type of used oils is extra virgin olive oil. But still, each type of unsaturated oils may be used for ozonation. There are a lot of wrong knowledge on the internet about ozonated oils and its use as well. Just like other ozone therapy studies, also the studies about ozone oils are inadequate to avoid incorrect knowledge. Current data about ozone oil and its benefits are produced by supplier who oversees financial interests and make misinformation. Despite the rapidly increasing ozone oil sales through the internet, its quality and efficacy is still controversial. Dozens of companies and web sites may be easily found to buy ozonated oil. But, very few of these products are reliable, and contain sufficiently ozonated oil. This article aimed to introduce the troubles about ozonated oils and so to inform ozonated oil users.

Colombo M, Ceci M, Felisa E, Poggio C, Pietrocola G. Cytotoxicity evaluation of a new ozonized olive oil. Eur J Dent. 2018 Oct-Dec;12(4):585-589. doi: 10.4103/ejd.ejd_422_18. Conclusions: The present data demonstrate that due to its cytocompatibility, the new ozonized olive oil could be considered an alternative antibacterial agent.

Kumar T, Arora N, Puri G, Aravinda K, Dixit A, Jatti D. Efficacy of ozonized olive oil in the management of oral lesions and conditions: A clinical trial. Contemp Clin Dent. 2016 Jan-Mar;7(1):51-4. doi: 10.4103/0976-237X.177097. Conclusion: Ozone therapy though requires a gaseous form to be more effective, but topical form can also bring out the positive results without any toxicity or side effect. Hence, it can be considered as a minimally invasive therapy for the oral infective and immunological conditions.

Jundishapur J Microbiol. 2016 Sep 18;9(11):e40839. doi: 10.5812/jjm.40839. Conclusions: We concluded that ozonized organic extra-virgin olive oil was a growth inhibitor of Giardia cysts, and concerning its compatibility with a biological system, it is recommended for further clinical trials.
