It occurs in the form of a fine white powder, when heated to 70°C it becomes a transparent liquid.
What it is used for and where
Chemical raw material. Sulphosuccinates are the sodium salts of the alkyl ester of sulphosuccinic acid and make up approximately 49% of all anionic surfactants.
Cosmetics
It is an anionic surfactant that produces rich, fine foam that is easy to wash out without greasy effects. Compatible with other surfactants whose irritative effect it tends to reduce. Performs its function even in hard water. Widely used in the preparation of liquid soaps, foam cleansing creams, foam cleansers, foam shaving creams, shower gels.
Also used to improve skin elasticity, absorb ultraviolet rays, limit melanin synthesis, reduce pigment deposition.
Raw material for amide surfactants.
Usage: 4-10% in shampoo and 4-8% in bath foam. 0.5-5% in cosmetics (PH value should be below 7)
Other uses
Coatings, textiles, paper, leather and oil exploration industries.
