Huth S, Huth L, Marquardt Y, Cheremkhina M, Heise R, Baron JM. MMP-3 plays a major role in calcium pantothenate-promoted wound healing after fractional ablative laser treatment. Lasers Med Sci. 2022 Mar;37(2):887-894. doi: 10.1007/s10103-021-03328-8.
Abstract. Ablative fractional laser treatment leads to a loss of matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3) expression; therefore, in the present in vitro study, we addressed the role of MMP-3 and its regulation by calcium pantothenate in wound healing processes at the molecular level. Utilizing confocal laser microscopy, we investigated MMP-3 protein expression in fractional ablative CO2 laser-irradiated skin models.
Schmitt L, Huth S, Amann PM, Marquardt Y, Heise R, Fietkau K, Huth L, Steiner T, Hölzle F, Baron JM. Direct biological effects of fractional ultrapulsed CO2 laser irradiation on keratinocytes and fibroblasts in human organotypic full-thickness 3D skin models. Lasers Med Sci. 2018 May;33(4):765-772. doi: 10.1007/s10103-017-2409-1.
Abstract. Molecular effects of various ablative and non-ablative laser treatments on human skin cells-especially primary effects on epidermal keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts-are not yet fully understood. We present the first study addressing molecular effects of fractional non-sequential ultrapulsed CO2 laser treatment using a 3D skin model that allows standardized investigations of time-dependent molecular changes ex vivo.
Weimann BI, Hermann D. Studies on wound healing: effects of calcium D-pantothenate on the migration, proliferation and protein synthesis of human dermal fibroblasts in culture. Int J Vitam Nutr Res. 1999 Mar;69(2):113-9. doi: 10.1024/0300-9831.69.2.113.
Abstract. The effect of calcium D-pantothenate on the migration, proliferation and protein synthesis of human dermal fibroblasts from three different donors was investigated. The migration of cells into a wounded area was dose-dependently stimulated by Ca D-pantothenate. The number of cells that migrated across the edge of the wound increased from 32 +/- 7 cells/mm without Ca D-pantothenate to 76 +/- 2 cells/mm with 100 mg/ml Ca D-pantothenate.
Brzezińska-Wcisło L. Ocena skuteczności witaminy B6 i pantotenianu wapniowego na wzrost włosów w aspekcie klinicznym i trichologicznym w łysieniu rozlanym kobiet Evaluation of vitamin B6 and calcium pantothenate effectiveness on hair growth from clinical and trichographic aspects for treatment of diffuse alopecia in women. Wiad Lek. 2001;54(1-2):11-8.
Abstract. The aim of the study was the clinical and trichological examination (trichogram and hair loss evaluation) conducted comparatively before and after the treatment in 46 women between pubescence and 30 years of age who had symptoms of diffuse alopecia. Calcium pantothenate was administered twice a day orally in doses 100 mg for 4-5 months.
