Casperome® is a formulation comprising an extract of Boswellia serrata, a tree belonging to the Burseraceae family that grows in India, the Middle East and North Africa and whose biologically active constituents, 3-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid and β-boswellic acid, are credited with anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic activity.

The composition includes soya lecithin in an equal ratio and, to improve the physical stability of the product, microcrystalline cellulose.

Absorption of Casperome® is rapid and tissue and plasma levels have been shown to be higher than with other boswellic acids (1).

Casperome® also improved symptoms in healthy subjects with mild irritable bowel syndrome (2) and in the management of ulcerative colitis in remission (3).
