REVIEW CALLIPO - Filetti di tonno al naturale - Riserva oro - 150 g
The packaging is in a glass jar and the tuna is in water, not oil.
The salt content is reasonable, 0.6 grams per 100 grams of product, so a low value.
The taste is very pleasant and, despite the tuna being in water, it is very soft. There are quite thick slices of tuna, all cut to size. The price reflects the quality and is not among the cheapest on the market. In other, cheaper packages, however, the tuna is a flattened mixture that flakes into tiny pieces as soon as you touch it. Good smell, excellent consistency.
The tuna is worked in Italy, therefore with the regulations and controls that guarantee the consumer. Italy is one of the most active countries in terms of food controls.
Excellent product.
A few words about this tuna.
Thunnus Albacares tuna (Thunnus albacares, Bonnaterre 1788), also known as Yellowfin tuna, an active pelagic migratory predator lives in temperate and subtropical waters but the global genetic structure is still poorly understood despite its relevance to the tuna fishing industry (2). It lives in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Albacares tuna is distributed in a continuous pan-tropical belt of 45 degrees north and south of the equator, from the Gulf of Mexico in the western Atlantic eastward to the coast of the American continent in the Pacific.
