Kosovo
Kosovo, officially Republic of Kosovo, is a partially recognized republic located in the Balkan Peninsula, in Southeast Europe. It declared independence from Serbia in 2008, but its sovereignty is recognized by only part of the international community. The capital of Kosovo is Pristina, which is also its political, economic, and cultural center. Kosovo has an ethnically diverse population, with a majority of ethnic Albanians and a significant Serbian minority. The region has a complex and turbulent history, marked by ethnic and political conflicts, particularly during the Kosovo War in the late 1990s. Kosovo is known for its cultural heritage, which includes historical sites, Orthodox monasteries, and mosques. Kosovo's economy is one of the least developed in Europe, but it is making progress towards greater economic and political integration with the European Union.
