Montenegro
Montenegro, officially Republic of Montenegro, is a country located in Southeast Europe on the Adriatic coast of the Balkan Peninsula. It borders Croatia to the west, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest, Serbia to the northeast, Kosovo to the east, and Albania to the southeast. The capital is Podgorica, while the historic city of Cetinje is designated as the seat of the President. Montenegro is known for its stunning landscape, which includes towering mountains, national parks, and a picturesque coastline with beaches and ancient walled towns like Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The country has a rich history and culture, with Slavic, Venetian, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian influences. Montenegro became independent from Serbia in 2006 and is working towards greater integration with the European Union and NATO. Its economy is based on tourism, agriculture, and metal production.
