Myanmar

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is a country in Southeast Asia. It borders India and Bangladesh to the west, China to the north and northeast, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the southeast. Its coastline faces the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. The capital is Naypyidaw, and the largest city is Yangon (Rangoon). Burmese culture is strongly influenced by Theravada Buddhism, as well as the country's ethnic minorities. Myanmar is known for its historical sites, such as the temples of Bagan and the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. The economy is based on agriculture, natural resources, and more recently, tourism. The country has a complex history of British colonization, followed by decades of military rule. In recent years, Myanmar has embarked on a process of political and economic reforms, but continues to face significant challenges, including ethnic conflicts and human rights issues.
