Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a country located in Central Europe. It is a landlocked country, bordered by Italy to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. The capital is Bern, but the cities of Zurich and Geneva are also important financial and cultural centers. Switzerland is known for its mountainous landscape, particularly the Alps and the Jura, and its picturesque lakes.
