Switzerland
Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a country located in Central Europe. It is a landlocked country, bordered by Italy to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. The capital is Bern, but the cities of Zurich and Geneva are also important financial and cultural centers. Switzerland is known for its mountainous landscape, particularly the Alps and the Jura, and its picturesque lakes. The country has a long history of neutrality and hosts many international organizations, including the Red Cross and several United Nations agencies. Switzerland is famous for its system of direct democracy and its strong and stable economy, with key sectors including finance, high-end watchmaking, chocolate production, and tourism. Despite its small size, Switzerland has four official languages: German, French, Italian, and Romansh.
