Plot
The film is set in the Pacific Ocean in 1941, shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Captain Matt Sherman (played by Cary Grant) is in command of an old pink submarine, the "Sea Tiger," which was severely damaged during the attack. His mission is to repair the submarine and get it back into active service.
The situation becomes complicated when Captain Sherman welcomes aboard a group of army nurses, led by the experienced Lieutenant Barbara Duran (played by Tony Curtis). The submarine is tasked with hosting these women on a rescue mission to an island in the Philippines, but the journey turns into a series of comedic mishaps.
During the journey, Captain Sherman and his crew try to keep the presence of the women a secret from higher authorities. Meanwhile, technical problems with the submarine and dynamics between crew members and the nurses lead to hilarious situations.
