Olaflur has demonstrated, compared to sodium fluoride, greater ability to counter the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria, lower amounts of bacterial protein and therefore appears to be superior to sodium fluoride for long-term use at low pH (1) .

Also with regard to dentinal hypersensitivity, in a toothpaste such as Elmex sensitive, Amine Fluoride has statistically demonstrated significant improvements compared to other toothpastes (2).

As far as caries is concerned, Amine Fluoride has provided excellent results with a decrease in lesion progression (3).

The results of this study support the current recommendation of using toothpastes with >1000 ppm F concentration in children with an increased caries risk in addition to spitting excess toothpaste with no rinsing following brushing (4).

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of sodium fluoride (NaF) and amine fluoride (AmF) on bacterial viability in the oral cavity.
AmF has only little effect on the bacterial viability of oral biofilms. NaF application reduces the number of living bacteria in the oral biofilms. This effect lasts not longer than 120 min (5).

What is Olaflur - Amine fluoride

It is a chemical compound that contain both an amine and an alcohol group.  It comes in the form of a solid powder.

Medical

It is mainly used in toothpastes and mouthwashes as a dental caries protector (1) and to reduce stains on teeth that may form with the use of oral compositions containing cationic antimicrobials.

Antiplaque agent. This ingredient has the property of preventing the onset of caries by fighting the bacteria responsible for acid corrosion of teeth.

Fissativo per capelli. Commercial applications   

Cavity Prevention. Olaflur is an active ingredient in many toothpastes and mouthwashes to prevent tooth decay.

Remineralization. It aids in the remineralization of tooth enamel, strengthening teeth and preventing demineralization.

Sensitivity Treatment. It can be used in specific products to treat tooth sensitivity.

Desensitizing Agents. Olaflur can form a protective layer on teeth, shielding them from external stimuli like heat or cold.

However, fluorine compounds have different efficacy depending on the product and concentration (2).

Abstract. Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the anticaries potential of a new sodium fluoride dentifrice in comparison to two commercial dentifrices containing different fluoride compounds by determining enamel fluoride uptake (EFU) and early caries lesion remineralization (REM) in an established in vitro caries remineralization/demineralization pH cycling model.....Conclusion: The present study has demonstrated that fluoride dentifrices vary in their capability of enhancing anticaries potential as determined using an established in vitro caries cycling model.
