Men in Black 3 is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and is the third installment in the "Men in Black" series. This film continues the adventures of the secret agents Jay (played by Will Smith) and Kay (played by Tommy Lee Jones), who are part of a secret government agency that monitors and regulates extraterrestrial activity on Earth.
Plot
The film begins with the escape of a dangerous alien named Boris the Animal (played by Jemaine Clement) from a maximum-security prison on a high-security moon. Boris is determined to seek revenge on Kay, the agent who arrested him many years ago.
Jay, the current Men in Black agent, discovers that the entire timeline is in jeopardy when he learns that Kay was killed in 1969 by a younger version of Boris. To save the future and his partner, Jay must travel back in time to the 1960s, where he meets a young Kay (played by Josh Brolin).
Jay and young Kay must work together to stop Boris and prevent them from altering the course of history. During the time-traveling adventure, Jay uncovers surprising secrets about Kay's past life and his motivation for becoming a Men in Black agent.
The film is a mix of action, comedy, and adventure and provides an affectionate look at the relationship between the two agents and the secret history of the Men in Black agency.

My opinion. When sequels to famous films are released, one is often faced with sound disappointments. Fortunately, this is not the case with Men in Black 3. Thanks in part to absolutely fine actors such as Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin, quality special effects, and a decidedly enjoyable story this film turned out to be a pleasant surprise, complete with a final twist. Recommended for those who have seen the first 2 chapters.
