Bardonecchia Grange della Rho walking path
Rather easy itinerary, without demanding climbs and with spectacular views.
Departure from Via Pra de la Cumbe, corner via Cavour
which, at the beginning, has a narrow and bumpy asphalt, but which improves later and does not create problems for any car.
At about 300 meters, on the left, you see the Tur d'Amun, following the street of the same name.
Continue along Via Pra de la Cumbe which turns right.
As you climb, you will see a magnificent view of the Jafferau on the right.
After a series of bends you will find a square with indications of the place where to leave the car and continue on foot (in case you arrive here by car).
You go up the path behind the tourist sign with all the information of the path and the place and, at the beginning the path is a little steep, but becomes flat almost immediately.
Another fifteen minutes and we find a tourist sign that explains part of the panorama that you see, in particular the tip of the Gran Crù, in front.
The road winds slightly uphill and, after ten minutes, another indication. On the left, the Granges of the Rho are about 20 minutes away, while the Grange Frejus, on the right, 40 minutes.
We go left and enjoy the panorama of the slopes of Colomion and Pian del Sole, while the road is always light and comfortable.
We’re almost there, five minutes to the Granges.
And, finally, here they are! It’s a small fraction, indeed, very small, there are ten little houses, 2 fountains and a chapel with a beautiful sundial.
From the central road that turns to the right, when the granges end, there is a spectacular view that continues, if you want, until you reach the old barracks of Pian dei Morti, a 2-hour walk or the hill of Rho at 2 hours and 50 minutes. It was worth it !
