Location
The restaurant U Johanna has a rather well-known tradition concerning the way of cooking "koleno", that is the pork knee, or, as elsewhere is called, the shin.
There are two internal rooms and, in summer, an outdoor area.
Parking area
When you arrive from Zlin, unfortunately it is not pleasant to turn into a petrol station to get in front of the restaurant, but the parking lot is wide and is located both in front of and behind the restaurant.
Position
On the Zlin-Vizovice road in the front and on a Zlin road in the back.
Food
As I said before, the specialty is the" koleno" and, in my opinion, it is the place of Moravia in which they cook it better, both as a flavor and as a consistency. As the koleno is rather heavy and bulky, you can choose the weight. It starts from about 700 grams upwards. However, we must remember that the interior is bone. I recommend a single portion of 800 grams for 2 people. If you can not finish it, the staff can put it in a box to take home.
The koleno is always well cooked and very flavored with aromatic herbs and other ingredients that remain secret. It is not spicy, or at least, spices are very little. It is brought to the table with different sauces, sweet and spicy.
The other dishes do not have the same value, they are well made but not exceptional.
Excellent beers, but they are excellent everywhere, in the Czech Republic.
Conclusions.
Good restaurant that owes its fame to the "koleno".
During the week it is not crowded, but it is still good to book.
