Benzotriazole is considered a contaminant. This study analyzes the probable quantities that are released into the water (1).

This study demonstrated the feasibility of treating municipal wastewater with high concentrations of benzothiazole and benzotriazole in laboratory-scale membrane bioreactors and identified potential challenges for the removal of benzotriazole (2).

Benzotriazole and its associated derivatives are widely used as ultraviolet stabilizers and corrosion inhibitors. They have been extensively found in marine environments and are bioaccumulative through the food chain (3).

It demonstrated higher thermal stability than 1,2,3-triazole and is advantageous in many near-neutral solutions and not appreciably mineralised by UV irradiation.

• copper antioxidant
• corrosion protection
• machine dishwashing detergents for silver protection

Antimicrobial agent. This ingredient is able to suppress or inhibit the growth and replication of a broad spectrum of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses by making the stratum corneum temporarily bactericidal and fungicidal.
