Arachidic acid is a Very-long-chain (20:0) polyunsaturated fatty acid found in nature in small amounts in peanuts
The intake of arachidic acid showed, in 184 subjects, a lower risk factor regarding pregnancy-induced hypertension, compared to other fatty acids such as myristic acid and palmitic acid (1).
An inverse relationship has also been observed between arachidic acid and cardiometabolic conditions with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (2).
