Yellow dextrins are used by the food and pharmaceutical industries as thickeners, foam stabilizers, artificial sweetener base.

In cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, dextrin acts as a moisturizer and binding agent to prevent the various components from dispersing or losing uniformity.
