An anionic surfactant of natural origin with the ability to interact with epidermal lipids and less irritating than sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). However, Sodium coco sulfate has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) as its dominant constituent (1), a chemical compound on which many clinical studies have expressed negative opinions for its effects on human health. Used as a base for solid shampoos.
