Methylene Glycol is a chemical compound, member of the class of methanediols.
Chemical name methanediol
Molecular Formula CH4O2
Significant substances present or used in the production method:
Safety
Methylene glycol and formaldehyde are chemically different molecules, but there is a close correlation between these two compounds: they rapidly convert into glycol in aqueous solution and have rapid conversion to each other. Formaldehyde is a natural product in the environment and in living systems, but prolonged exposure can lead to irritation, especially to the eyes and nose.
