Medical
It is used in the treatment of skin xerosis and irritative and allergic dermatitis, psoriasis, is well tolerated and has a sebum-balancing and emollient action on the stratum corneum (1). In an efficacy and safety comparison with other emollients, Glycerophosphoinositol Choline was found to be slightly more effective in reducing the symptoms of atopic dermatitis than other commercially available emollients (2).
Cosmetics
Skin protectant. It creates a protective barrier on the skin to defend it from harmful substances, irritants, allergens, pathogens that can cause various inflammatory conditions. These products can also improve the natural skin barrier and in most cases more than one is needed to achieve an effective result.
