Description of raw materials used in production

4-tert-butylbenzoic acid. An aromatic compound.
Methyl 3-oxovalerate. An ester.
Catalyst. Such as a transition metal.

Step-by-step summary of industrial chemical synthesis process

Preparation of raw materials. Raw materials need to be purified and readied for the reaction.
Reaction. The 4-tert-butylbenzoic acid reacts with methyl 3-oxovalerate in the presence of a catalyst.
