It is a dye composed of copper and phthalocyanine and is commonly called by the name of CI 74260 or green phthalocyanine. The green phthalocyanine pigment (PG7) is thermally stable and degradation begins only after 550° C (1).
Cosmetics
It is a restricted ingredient as II/1369 and IV/107 a Relevant Item in the Annexes of the European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 regulated by 88/667/EEC.
Hair dyeing. It is an ingredient that adds a colouring to the hair that can be temporary, semi-permanent or permanent depending on what other ingredients are added to achieve the result. The pH for hair dyeing is generally between 9 and 10.
Safety. It is an ingredient that has some important contraindications regarding the health profile: it should not enter areas close to the eyes and is therefore a potential eye irritant.
